a darkened hall
two wary cats
one scolding, one sulking
in the end forgiving
The film and grit of
trains and planes
transit hours silting my veins
spiral down the bathtub drain
The slide of skin at last between
the skin of cool familiar sheets
to let the body’s weight
sublimate
into a pillow that smells like
home
